Look, Mom, I’m on a Podcast!

Guess who was interviewed for a podcast.  I was so excited to do it.  This was my first time on a podcast ever!

In this episode of The Super Fantastic Show, we speak with Dr. Ericka Goodwin, who dropped from a size 14 to a size 6 (size Large to Small) while on long term travel. How did she do it? What made the difference? She’ll share it here.

Super Fantastic Show Ep. 6

Just as my taste in fashion changes, my choice of aesthetic for my website has also changed.  Check out the new look:)  Thanks for visiting!  Thanks for your patience while the content is updated to fit this new format.  Have a phenomenal day! Much nub, Dr. Ericka

Rediscovering My Happy Dance: happy dancing on a plane

I was recently on a flight, and I kept dancing in my seat.  I just could not contain it.  First, there was a little head bob. Then, my shoulders started uncontrollably moving.  I tried to hold it in, but my smooth groove could not be contained. Dang that Justin Bieber.   He was responsible for starting it off…or was he?   Was this bouncy, carefree groove the source of my glee or was it something else?  Stop, hammer time!  Just kidding:).

Tales of a Car Radio Intrusion

I was sitting in my car and having one of those too tired to get out of the car moments. My car was invaded by loud music.  It wasn’t just any loud music.  It was so bad that I can’t call that crap hip hop.   The sounds of the “N” word invaded my car. Each line, had the provocative, offensive word in it 2-4 times.  How can you even make a sentence with that word in it so many times?  I can’t even begin to diagram those “sentences.”   Continue reading “Tales of a Car Radio Intrusion”

The Window Seat: opening my eyes and the shade

I have always preferred the window seat on a plane.  As a child, I would gaze out of the window at amazement as the world passed by.  I would marvel at how things below looked like pieces on a game.  As I have become older, I still prefer the window seat.  I can’t honestly say it was because of the view.  I loved the window seat because I would be free from getting bumped and abused as people haphazardly go down the aisle, wrestle with carry ons that are often way too heavy, carry way too much stuff, and runaway refreshment carts.  The window also was an escape from being sandwiched between people.  I could always cuddle up by the window to create space for myself, especially when the person next to me appeared to have no concept of personal space.

Thanksgiving Thoughts From St. Louis

I know my blog needed some serious resuscitation.  It’s been over a year since it has gotten some love.  I’ve had so many ideas for blogs, but somehow could not get them written down.  No excuses.  Apparently, my act wasn’t together.  Now, I am back.  I have something to say, and I might as well share it.  I was born and raised in St. Louis.  I sometimes still work here.  It is striking how different the response is when someone asks where I am from. The responses used to vary from indifferent, to “I’ve never been there,” or “is that where that arch thing is?”  Now, it’s a conversation starter.  Strangers’ ears perk up.  People have opinions and thoughts on Ferguson.   Continue reading “Thanksgiving Thoughts From St. Louis”

I’m Back: sun, peace, and happiness

I must start out with an apology to my readers and myself for slacking on my blog for so long. I could say that life happened, but that would just be an excuse. I’ll wrap this up with simply, “my bad.” I’m on vacation, and my girls have been posting on their blogs, and this was just the push I needed to get over my case of severe blog neglect.

I have found something in Jamaica that was very unexpected. “What” you may ask. Dragonflies? Mosquitoes? Sun? The one word answer is “peace.” Continue reading “I’m Back: sun, peace, and happiness”
