A Sort of Green Light

Today, was my first day of physical therapy.  Not only did it make me feel a little better, but my therapist gave me permission to do some cardio.  She just told me to make sure that it doesn’t cause me any pain and to do short intervals at a time.  Woo-hoo.  I’ve been feeling sluggish, and I’m starting to get tics when I see or think about the gym.  That’s not a good thing, since I am still dealing with whiplash.  LOL.  Tomorrow, I have a date with the recumbent bike.  I never knew a bike could look so sexy (wink).  I wonder how people with more permanent or serious injuries find ways to stay fit.  Hmmm.  Feel free to let me know if you have any clues. That’s the big news for the day.  Tomorrow, will be my day to tackle an intriguing fitness infomercial.  You’ll have to come back to check it out.  Good luck on your journeys of health.

Much nub, health, and fitness,

Leaving It All On the Bike

I was running late this morning, so I ran into spin class.  I hopped on that bike and did my own warm up.  Once the blood was pumping, I pedaled like my life depended on it.  I found something down deep that I had forgotten was there.  I can definitely say I left it all on that bike.  Sweat was dripping.  My eyes were burning, but at the end I was still standing.  This was just what I needed because I’ll be going to non-beginning spin classes when I start vacation this weekend.  I’m ready, so bring it on!  There’s nothing left but to do it.  Wish me luck.  My booty still needs it.  I hope your journey to health is going well, too.

Off Day

I’m thinking today is going to be my off day.  I’m realizing that I’m totally exhausted.  Seeing patients during a power outage was a bit much, but I’m fortunate to have been able to make a difference.  Now, I just need to continue to make a difference in my own life.  I’m worth it!  By the way, you’re worth it, too!  I can work out Thursday and Friday to still hit my 4 day of week goal.  I’m going to get my beauty sleep, so I can be ready to kill spin class tomorrow.  My new goal is to be ready to attack a non-beginning spin class by the time I go on vacation in February.  Wish me luck!  My butt’s ready for class tomorrow, too.  I’m ready to leave it all on that bike!  Oh, if you’re wondering, the healthier eating plan is still going well.

Spin Day 2

I discovered the cure for post-spinning pain.  What is it you ask?  Spinning some more!  I went in the lion’s den, aka the YMCA.  I looked straight at the bike seat and hopped on.  Ironically, by the time the class was over, I was a lot less sore than when I arrived.  I learned a new “trick” today, also.  We did hammy, hover, sprint, recover.  I let slip my first expletive in class.  LOL.  2 co-workers even showed up to the class after I had talked to them about my experience.  Who knew I had that effect on people?  Honestly, I love having them there.  They continue to make me even more accountable for going.  All of you reading this are also keeping my feet to the fire, in a nice way. Wish me luck in avoiding the evil doughnuts again at the staff meeting tomorrow morning.
3 days down, 25 to go until it’s a habit.
